FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wedding planning comes with a lot of moving parts, so you may have questions! Scroll down to find the topic you need answers to.

HOW QUICKLY SHOULD I BOOK?

With 2 years in a row fully booked the year prior, my clients have been securing their dates 12-18 months in advance.

A contract signature and $500 retainer fee are required to book.

CAN YOU EXPLAIN YOUR MINIMUM? ARE THERE EXCEPTIONS TO THE MINIMUM?

My minimum is the base package you see in the Investment Guide, which is the minimum what’s required to secure my services. Add ons such as adding extra people or extended travel can be considered on top of the minimum.

To continue providing the level of services and honoring time for both my brides big days and artist students education, my minimum price is not negotiable. I’m happy to discuss customizing the minimum to fit your needs, let’s chat!

BOOKING + INVESTMENT

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WANT MAKEUP? CAN PEOPLE OPT IN OR OUT AFTER BOOKING?

We will begin with the minimum and work from there (if you plan to have a party of 6 or more, please read the next question)!

People are welcome to opt in after booking, however, on a case-by-case basis. If someone decides to opt out of services, the cost remains the same; you have the choice to either credit the application to another person on the wedding day or use it for a wedding related event!

DO YOU SERVICE LARGE WEDDING PARTIES? DO YOU PROVIDE A SECOND ARTIST?

To remain aligned with my goal of providing bespoke, intimate makeup services, I limit my bookings to 10 people maximum.

A second artist is provided for bookings of 6 or more with a flat rate fee. For bookings that require a second artist, especially if your date is April-October, it’s highly encouraged to confirm the headcount upon inquiring to ensure a second artist can be secured and accommodate. Second artists are not secured and scouted until your date is booked.

WHAT PRODUCTS AND BRANDS DO YOU CARRY?

I carry a wide variety of brands in my kit with household names like NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, and Makeup by Mario, as well as professionally loved brands such as Graftobian, Ben Nye, and Kryolan.

DO YOU OFFER AIRBRUSH MAKEUP, HAIR SERVICES, AND/OR LASHES?

I do not provide airbrush and hair services.

Lashes are included in every makeup application, from individual to strip. No extra fee!

WHAT IS A PREVIEW? IS IT A TRIAL? CAN I SCHEDULE ONE BEFORE BOOKING?

Previews are what some call trials, just new industry rewording and structure! Previews are 2 hour sessions scheduled 1-2 months before your wedding to test your desired look not only on wearability and longevity, but to see if the style is exactly what you want.

Due to high demand, previews are exclusive to booked clients.

CAN ANYONE OTHER THAN ME BOOK A PREVIEW? IS MINE INCLUDED IN THE MINIMUM?

I’m happy to provide previews to anyone who wants one! Previews are $250.

Your preview is included in the minimum.

“As a 2023 bride I cannot speak more highly of Carly! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she has such a great energy! She meshed so well with all of us & added such fun conversation the morning of my wedding. Carly made sure we also all FELT beautiful (while looking fabulous). I had absolute trust in her ability to make all of us look stunning on my wedding day, and she went above and beyond for all of us 🤍 I recommend her so so much to anyone who wants their makeup done because she is there for brides every single step of the way.” -DANIELLE

HOW DO YOU STRUCTURE THE WEDDING DAY TIMELINE?

I’m happy to collaborate with your hairstylist and planner (if applicable) to create a beauty timeline that doesn’t interfere with the photo schedule. Timelines are usually created 1-2 months, usually after the preview has wrapped up, as the master timeline is more ironed out then.

For quality service and to work efficiently, I allot 1 hour for each person, and the bride 1 hour and 15 minutes. I dedicate the last 15 minutes to touch ups and allot a 30 minute buffer at the end of services to avoid possible delays from pushing the schedule back.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT ON MY WEDDING DAY?

If something keeps me from being there on your wedding day (illness, traffic, etc.) you’ll be notified ASAP. I’m fortunate to have a close-nit group of artists whom I trust to help me if I need assistance! More information is found in the contract.

CAN WE GET READY IN MY VENUES BRIDAL SUITE? CAN WE DO SERVICES AT 2 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS?

That depends on a few different factors:

  • entry time is something to consider; ask your venue what time you’re able to get into the bridal suite.

  • size is the second, especially if you have a larger party. If the bridal suite is smaller, see if there’s a different room in the venue we can use.

I do not provide services in more than one location.
