MY WHY

As a creative in any field, you never stop learning. Being a wedding makeup artist is no exception, rather, there’s so much you can learn to set yourself, and your client, up for success.

I began to focus on artist-based education because the day begins with us. Our clients may have never gotten their makeup done professionally, let alone planned a wedding before. As the professional, part of our job is to understand what’s needed to make our clients experience before, during, and after getting their makeup done a success.

I want to help wedding makeup artists thrive in our industry by teaching them the WHY behind the brush stroke, the color choices, and business policies.

I’m Carly, salon receptionist turned 9-5 corporate girly turned full-time wedding makeup artist with a passion for artist-centric education. With 300+ weddings worked and nearly 10 years of experience in the industry, both in teams and freelance, I’m excited to share everything I know to help other makeup artists set themselves up for success!

ARTIST 1:1 LESSON

Hands on, in-depth, and detail oriented lesson to help you perfect your makeup skills.

In this 3 hour lesson, you will:

  • replicate what I demo on one half of the face

  • learn basic techniques that apply to any type of makeup application, from no-makeup makeup to full glam

  • learn ways to easily communicate with clients to better understand their vision while sticking to your style

  • What you need to know:

    • exclusively hosted at my studio in Grandview, Ohio

    • to stay true to the nature of the service, only one artist per lesson

    • a model will be provided for you

    • bring your makeup kit and brushes!

DEMO-ONLY LESSON

More of a visual learner? This mini-masterclass style lesson features a demo creating a signature wedding look with the specifics you wanna know.

In this 2 hour lesson, you will:

  • learn basic techniques that apply to any type of makeup application, from no-makeup makeup to full glam

  • learn ways to easily communicate with clients to better understand their vision while sticking to your style

  • What you need to know:

    • exclusively hosted at my studio in Grandview, Ohio

    • to stay true to the nature of the service, only one artist per lesson

    • a model will be provided for you

    • since this is demo-only, you do not need to bring your makeup kit
